Annotatsiya

This article explores the natural and hydrological characteristics of the Amu Darya River and the historical significance of its ancient channels in the development of agriculture in the regions of Khorezm and Bactria. Special attention is paid to the lower course of the river, particularly the Okchadarya, Sarykamysh, and Aral channels, where early irrigation systems emerged. The paper analyzes archaeological findings from both northern and southern Bactria, providing insight into early canal construction. It also highlights the agricultural traditions of ancient Sogdiana along the Kashkadarya and Zerafshan rivers.
