The article sets out the general conditions for verifying the legality, validity and fairness of sentences, determinations, decisions, the procedure for filing a complaint (protest) against a sentence or determination of the court of first instance, reflected in the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the content and essence of the reforms, the significance of these innovations in the theory and practice of criminal procedure law, their place in the activities of criminal justice. In this scientific work, from the point of view of new norms of criminal procedure legislation, modern legal factors of appeal, which is an institution for reviewing court decisions in criminal cases, and the grounds for canceling or changing court decisions are described. To reveal the relevance of the topic, the author paid special attention to the opinions and views of procedural scientists in a number of educational and scientific literature on the subject and branch of criminal procedure law, the need to review court documents, analysis of the powers and responsibilities of judges in judicial practice on this matter.
