The article reveals the theoretical and practical foundations for establishing effective cooperation between citizens' self-government bodies and state authorities, as well as its essence, legal nature, and the ways for its further improvement. In particular, it analyzes the nature and key features of local self-government bodies in the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as their common characteristics with state authorities. Models, forms, and mechanisms of interaction between citizens' self-government bodies and state authorities are classified. The concept and fundamental principles of interaction between citizens' self-government bodies and state authorities are presented. In addition, the article examines the issues of the correlation of functions and powers between citizens' self-government bodies and state authorities, as well as ensuring their independence in the exercise of their powers. The main directions for improving the system of interaction between citizens' self-government bodies and state authorities are also outlined.
