The article analyzes the problems and opportunities in the process of translating sports terminology. The global importance of modern sports, the emergence of new sports and terminologies, as well as the development of translation technologies are presented. The translation of sports terms should be carried out taking into account the cultural context, technical accuracy and pragmatic tasks. The article also discusses translation methods, cultural differences and the influence of the English language. In conclusion, the process of translating lexical units related to summer sports games is complex and indicates an increasing need for qualified translators.
