One of the fundamental goals of the modern education system is to shape students into specialists capable of independent, creative, and analytical thinking, who can find practical and effective solutions to real-life problems. These skills are particularly crucial for young people studying in technical fields, as they are among the main factors determining their professional preparedness, readiness for innovative activity, and competitiveness in the modern labor market. From this perspective, it has become imperative to not only rely on traditional teaching methods but also to implement innovative approaches, particularly short-term, practice-oriented forms of educational activities such as hackathons. This article comprehensively analyzes the role of hackathons in developing creative thinking and problem-solving skills in students studying technical fields, as well as their pedagogical, psychological, and practical significance. Based on existing scientific and theoretical approaches, along with foreign and local experiences, the article thoroughly examines the competencies formed through hackathons, especially creativity, critical thinking, problem identification, and the ability to develop solutions. Additionally, recommendations are provided to enhance the effectiveness of educational competitions in this format.
