This article covers the concept of penitentiary crime, its dangerous features, issues of organizing cooperation between operational units of territorial internal affairs bodies and institutions in order to prevent the commission of crimes by convicts in places of deprivation of liberty. It also considers the need to organize and implement operational-search crime prevention, the tasks of operational employees in this area and their role in preventing crime.
