This article explores the importance of enhancing the efficiency of water legislation and strengthening prosecutorial oversight over its implementation in Uzbekistan. It emphasizes the global water scarcity crisis, with a special focus on Central Asia, where water loss and outdated irrigation systems threaten food and environmental security. The role of prosecutorial control in ensuring environmental legislation compliance is examined, alongside public environmental oversight. The author underscores the need for high-tech prosecutorial methods to protect water resources effectively and highlights the unique, independent role of the prosecution in safeguarding constitutional rights, legality, and sustainable water use.
