The socio-economic processes that emerged in Turkestan at the beginning of the 20th century and the views of national progressives on these processes held significant historical and political importance. Turkestan's economy primarily relied on agriculture and cotton cultivation. National progressives proposed various reforms, including land reforms and ideas for industrial development, to advance the country's economic and cultural growth. It is noted that leaders of national movements, including progressives such as Mahmudhoja Behbudi, Abdulhamid Cholpon, and Abdurauf Fitrat, worked to address social and political issues and strove for Turkestan's independence. They also advocated for the necessity of reforming education and culture.
