This article analyzes the role of mass media in the political processes of Uzbekistan, the country’s information policy, legislative foundations of freedom of speech and the press, and trends in media sector development. The paper discusses legal documents and institutions regulating media activities, as well as reforms aimed at liberalizing the field. Additionally, the article examines existing issues in the media sector and provides recommendations for their resolution.
