The social aspects of global environmental policy cover a wide range of issues related to the interaction of people, societies, and natural resources in the international arena. Indigenous peoples often live in areas at high risk due to environmental decline. These groups are involved in defending their rights to land, resources and culture. Their interests should be taken into account in the global environmental protection system.
