This article analyzes one of the urgent problems of the 21st century - water resource scarcity and its economic, environmental and social impacts. The rational use of water resources on a global and national scale, the importance of water-saving technologies, and the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan are widely covered. In particular, state programs for the widespread introduction of drip irrigation technologies in agriculture, improving the reclamation of irrigated lands, and modernizing the existing water management infrastructure are considered. This article contains scientific and practical recommendations on the causes, consequences and solutions to global water scarcity.
