Over the past decade, crowdfunding has become a significant phenomenon, attracting the attention of entrepreneurs, developers, consumers, and investors. This tool, similar to the revolution in e-commerce, has transformed the ways of raising capital and the interaction between investors and startups. The article examines four main models of crowdfunding: donation-based, reward-based, lending-based, and equity-based crowdfunding. Despite its advantages, crowdfunding carries several risks for investors, including fraud, incompetence, lack of liquidity in the secondary market, and taxation challenges. The regulation of crowdfunding also presents a complex task, requiring legislative adaptation to protect investors and maintain trust in this innovative mechanism.
