Since gaining independence, Uzbekistan has seen significant improvements in its criminal law and justice system, which have evolved considerably over time. The article examines the complexities of criminal law, particularly the imposition of penalties for socially dangerous acts. It analyzes the degree of leniency in sentencing, considering individual rights and interests, and explores historical trends in the liberalization of punishments within the context of Uzbekistan's criminal law
