This article analyzes the stages of development of the organizational and legal foundations of the Institute of Notaries in Uzbekistan. The legislative base of the administrative and legal regulation of the notary sphere is being studied in stages. During the development of the institute of notary, the specifics of the relationship between the regulatory body and the self-governing (regulatory organization) body are analyzed. The legal foundations of the organization of notaries engaged in private practice are analyzed. The article analyzes current trends and difficulties, including their interaction with other legal and government agencies. The problems related to notary processes' automation and modern technologies' introduction into notary practice are discussed. The experience of other countries in the field of notary regulation and its impact on the reform of the notary system in Uzbekistan is also being studied.
