This article examines the topic of firearms, including its essence, the factors that led to its appearance, the processes of development of firearms in various regions of the world, as well as those who contributed to its development in our country. The main attention is paid to the correct application of the concept of firearms in current legislation and the possession of firearms by citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The article also presents theoretical proposals and recommendations regarding the age and grounds for issuing permits to own firearms.
