The article discusses the most important aspect of stabilizing the operation of railway transport - maintaining the safety of train traffic. The authors draw attention to the threats that arise when this indicator is violated, such as danger to human life and health, significant material damage to the state, loss of cargo and failure of expensive equipment. Particular attention is paid not only to eliminating violations, but also to the development and implementation of new approaches to ensure the safety of train traffic and the creation of an effective system for monitoring the implementation of decisions made. The article also describes various aspects of human participation in the transportation process, and also examines the causes of safety violations, including organizational, technical, socio-economic and psychophysiological aspects. The authors emphasize the importance of conducting internal investigations and analyzing cases of traffic safety violations to identify the root causes of incidents.
