The paper examines the issues of pre-processing measurement information of various physical natures, differing in range and nature of measurement over time, using the principle of increasing its accuracy and reliability for diagnosed asynchronous electric drives of electric locomotives. The continuity or discreteness of measuring information is determined by the method and means of obtaining it, for example, a bridge measuring transducer or a primary sensor of measuring equipment. It is shown that the main method of increasing the accuracy and reliability of a continuous analog signal of electric rolling stock is sampling, which allows transmitting signals without loss of information. To assess the error, the criterion of the largest deviation for instantaneous values of the measured quantity and the root-mean-square criterion for the averaged parameters of the measured quantity were used; a block diagram of the process of automatic analysis and increasing the reliability of measurement information is given.
