This article analyzes the accession to power of the rulers of the Manghit dynasty and the mechanisms of political legitimation. It examines the political significance of accession ceremonies and the traditions of the white felt and the Koktash stone. The article also explores the influence of the Russian Empire on dynastic succession and the legitimation of political authority during the reigns of Amir Abdulahad Khan and Amir Olim Khan.
