A Methodology for Developing Students’ Information Security Competence Through Educational Strategy Games

Annotatsiya

This article provides a scientific and pedagogical rationale for a methodology aimed at developing information security competence among general secondary school students through educational strategy games. It substantiates the need to shift from the reproductive learning of predefined information security rules to an activity-based model focused on identifying threats, assessing risks, comparing alternative protection strategies, making informed decisions, analyzing their consequences, and engaging in reflection. An algorithm for organizing educational strategy games on the “KiberTa’lim” electronic learning platform was developed: “problem-based cyber situation – threat identification – risk assessment – analysis of alternative protection strategies – informed decision – consequence – reflection – correction”.
