This article examines the comparative and methodological foundations of corpus-informed English–Uzbek lexicography. Twenty collocations and fixed expressions are analysed qualitatively for semantic correspondence, grammatical structure, lexical compatibility and contextual variation. The sample does not establish corpus frequencies. Individual word equivalents do not always produce natural phrase translations. A proposed model accounts for Uzbek case marking and analytical verb constructions, integrating corpus evidence, contrastive analysis and lexicographic assessment. It requires documentation of sources, contexts and example status. The findings provide methodological recommendations for subsequent empirical validation and dictionary microstructure design.
