Implementing flipped classroom model in biotechnology education for secondary schools in Uzbekistan

This study investigates the implementation and effectiveness of the Flipped Classroom model in biotechnology education within Uzbekistan's secondary school system. Grounded in constructivist learning theory and digital pedagogy principles, the research employed a quasi-experimental design involving 412 students from grades 9-11 across four regions of Uzbekistan during the 2021-2022 academic year. The experimental groups, utilizing a comprehensive Flipped Classroom methodology integrated with biotechnology content, demonstrated significantly superior learning outcomes compared to traditional instruction: 87.3% success rate versus 76.8% in control groups (p<0.001). The study identified optimal conditions for Flipped Classroom implementation in biotechnology education, including pre-class digital content delivery, interactive in-class activities, technology-enhanced learning environments, and systematic assessment strategies. Results indicate that the Flipped Classroom model enhances students' self-directed learning capabilities, critical thinking skills, and biotechnology literacy while promoting active engagement and collaborative problem-solving essential for 21st-century competencies.
