The article provides an overview of modern research (2020-2025) on physiological changes occurring in athletes during high-intensity training. Energy supply mechanisms, cardiorespiratory restructuring, hormonal and neurohumoral responses, muscle adaptation, and immunological reactions are examined. Special attention was paid to the practical significance of the obtained knowledge for optimizing the training process, preventing overtraining, and improving sports results.
