In this work, the psychopharmacological properties of the alkaloid 1-(3-hydroxy-4 methoxyphenyl)-6,7-dimethoxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline were studied under experimental conditions. According to the results, the average lethal dose (LD₅₀) of the studied compound was 550 mg/kg, which indicates that it belongs to low-toxic substances. The compound increased motor activity in doses of 0.1–10.0 mg/kg and shortened the duration of sleep induced by ethaminal sodium, which indicates its psychostimulating properties. An increase in the latency of seizures and an increase in life expectancy in models with strychnine and pentylenetetrazole confirmed the presence of anticonvulsant activity. In experiments using arecoline, a reduction in the duration of central tremor and salivation has shown that the compound has M-cholinolytic properties. In the anxiogenic state caused by pentylenetetrazole, the substance showed pronounced anxiolytic activity, increasing the time spent in the light chamber and the K index, and in some doses showed results exceeding the effect of the reference drug seduxen.
