This article examines several aspects of the artistic activity of Turgun Alimatov, People’s Artist of Uzbekistan, professor, and holder of the “Oltin noxun” award. Particular attention is given to his performance style on the tanbur, sato, and dutor, through which he brought the classical Uzbek instrumental tradition to a high artistic level. The article discusses Alimatov’s role in revealing the expressive possibilities of these soft-sounding instruments, his contribution to the formation of an original ensemble sound, and the recognition his art received from listeners. It also considers the specific features of his accompaniment practice in collaboration with singers. The study emphasizes the importance of Alimatov’s performing heritage for the younger generation of musicians and shows that the unity of tanbur, sato, and dutor opens wide creative possibilities within the context of Uzbek classical music. The article also highlights the role of aesthetic taste, artistic thinking, and individual interpretation in the work of a traditional performer.
