This article analyzes the development of conducting art in the field of the orchestra of Uzbek folk instruments, including its historical formation, performance traditions, and modern stages. It also examines the creative activity of conductors, the richness of the repertoire, and the interaction between national and academic performance principles. Special attention is given to the system of training orchestral conductors at the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan. Folk instruments have long occupied an important place in Uzbek musical culture. While traditional performance initially developed in the form of solo performance and small ensembles, in the twentieth century the process of uniting folk instruments within an orchestral structure began. This process contributed to the formation of a new performance culture – the art of conducting. The initial stages in the formation of the orchestra of Uzbek folk instruments date back to the 1920s–1930s. During this period, the preservation of national musical traditions, their transformation into academic forms, notation, and the development of multipart orchestral performance became especially relevant. The article aims to provide a scholarly overview of the current state and prospects of the conducting school of folk instrument orchestras.
