Abstract This study examines the phraseological representation of the concept “Bala” in the Karakalpak linguistic worldview from semantic and linguocultural perspectives. The research material is based on phraseological units documented in A. Pirniyazova’s Qaraqalpaq tili frazeologiyalıq sisteması hám onıń stilistikalıq imkaniyatları (2020), Q. Paxratdinov and Q. Bekniyazov’s Qaraqalpaq tiliniń frazeologizmler sózligi (2018), J. Eshbaev’s Qaraqalpaq tiliniń qısqasha frazeologiyalıq sózligi (1985), as well as in the studies of B. Yusupova (2020; 2022). The data were collected using the method of continuous sampling. The findings demonstrate that phraseological units function as an important mechanism for preserving cultural memory, value systems, and ethnopsychological features of the Karakalpak people. The concept “child” is verbalized through both direct and indirect nominations and is closely associated with family continuity, lineage, moral values, and social responsibility. The analysis identifies major metaphorical models (genealogical, ornithomorphic, somatic, and domestic) and systematizes semantic groups related to childbirth, upbringing, maturation, and behavioral evaluation. The results indicate that the concept “Child/Bala” occupies a central position in Karakalpak phraseology, functioning as a key linguocultural unit that reflects the national worldview and value system. Key words: phraseology, child concept, Karakalpak language, linguistic worldview, metaphor, ethnolinguistics.
