In the article, the author sociologically analyzes the historical and socio-cultural aspects of the system of religious symbolic signs. Studying the identity of the population in a certain area based on the study of religious symbolic signs is of current importance. Assessing the historical and socio-cultural characteristics has become important as one of the objects of demonstrating national identity in the years of Uzbekistan's independence. It creates an opportunity to study the symbolic signs of religious affiliation that express national identity. In sociological literature, when the word "symbolic signs" is expressed, the image of culture comes to mind. But another aspect that testifies from history is "document-based monuments." Historical documents leave two legacies to generations. The first is history, the second is culture. Any monument is illuminated in the text of a document, and secondly, the artistic taste of the Arabs led them to instinctively prefer polychrome white monuments. In the study of the problem, the process of transformation of the problem from one period to another is studied using the "document analysis" method, which is widely used in sociology, and its conclusion describes the socio-cultural foundations with the influence of religious architecture on identity in the modern world.
