The renewal, development, and progress of literature form the basis for the formation of literary laws and theories. The early 20th century experienced literary influence in every aspect: fiction, literary types and genres, and their poetic features were updated, and on this basis, the need arose to develop their theoretical rules in literary theory. Classical traditions: poetic analysis related to aruz, artistry, rhyme changed according to the possibilities of new meters such as barmoq, free verse, prose, and mansura. Traditional themes, images, and the tasks assigned to them also changed dramatically. Literature has always been considered a social phenomenon in every era. In it, the creator's feelings are reflected depending on the socio-economic and spiritual situation in society. For this reason, the principle of determining the literary environment of the era based on the essence and imagery of the creator's works continues to justify itself to this day. The literary life of the early 20th century underwent several literary changes: the influence of the West on literature increased compared to the East, literary types and genres changed and were updated, barmoq and free verse replaced the aruz meter, images and the poet's style of expression were updated, and the attitude towards poetry changed. As a result, a new literary environment was formed, and the need arose to develop the laws of this environment and the literary works in it. Abdurakhman Saadi's textbook "Practical and Theoretical Literature Lessons" was born as a result of this need. The textbook is of great importance in Uzbek literary studies as a complete source on literary theory for its time. The article discusses the structural structure of the textbook.
