Relevance. Despite many achievements made by researchers, risk groups for diabetic retinopathy (DR) have not yet been determined, and drug prevention of this stage in the absence of clinical manifestations of DR has not been developed. Purpose of the study. To evaluate the effectiveness of drug prevention of DR among patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in the absence of DR with different risk groups for DR. Material and methods. A total of 81 patients (n=162 eyes) with type 2 diabetes mellitus were examined. All patients were divided into 2 homogeneous groups: 1- control and 2- main. Results and conclusion. As a result of the studies, negative dynamics of the perifoveal blood flow density indicators «Inferior hemi» of the deep vascular plexus (DCP), Vsist blood flow in the PCC, BDNF and VEGF parameters in the SF were established after a course of traditional treatment. Positive results were obtained when studying the parameters of OCT-A, UZODG, BDNF and VEGF against the background of taking Calcium Dobesilate above the initial values. Analysis of the results of the study showed high efficiency of drug prevention in patients with type 2 diabetes without DR.
