Relevance. Diabetic macular edema (DME) is observed in 10-15% of cases with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Purpose of the study. Conducting an analysis of scientific literature containing information on the treatment of DME with subthreshold micropulse laser coagulation over the next 10-15 years. Material and methods. Study of scientific articles published in authoritative publications in our republic and abroad, as well as a database of scientific information resources. Results and conclusion. An analysis of the literature on the treatment of DME with subthreshold micropulse laser coagulation is presented. Subthreshold micropulse laser coagulation with a wavelength of 577 nm is considered a scientifically proven method. Laser exposure is most effective in individuals with DME with a macular thickness of no more than 400 microns.
