Relevance. Recurrences after surgical removal of pterygium are one of the main problems in ophthalmic surgery. Recent studies show that the use of bioglue can reduce the risk of pterygium recurrence. Purpose of the study. To evaluate the clinical efficacy of using bioadhesive in primary pterygiumectomy. Materials and methods. After a standard ophthalmological examination, 39 patients with primary pterygium of grade 3-4, aged 27 to 73 years, were divided into two groups. In the main group (20 patients), fibrin bioadhesive was used to fix the conjunctival graft, while in the control group (19 patients), traditional suture fixation was used. Results and conclusion. The average level of satisfaction with the results of the operation in the main group was 94%, and in the control group, 81%. The use of bioadhesive in primary pterygiumectomy has proven to be highly effective and safe.
