Relevance. Myopia usually begins in adulthood. But in the modern world, the first manifestations of myopia occurred much earlier. If the typical age for the appearance of myopia in 1983 was 11-12 years, then in the 2000s, it was 8 years old. The situation worsens as children move into adolescence and youth. Myopia can be hereditary. The spread of myopia around the world is increasing, and scientists estimate that by 2050, half of the world’s population will not see far. Purpose of the study. The characteristics of the morphometric parameters of the light-breaking parts of the eye and the elements of the eyeball in girls with myopia of early school age. Materials and methods. Light-breaking parts of the eye and elements of the eyeball were studied in girls with myopia aged 7-12 years to determine morphometric indicators. Results. Excessive stretching of the eyeball leads to thinning of the retina. It leads to a decrease in the need for oxygen, which is due to venous congestion in the retinal vessels with a deterioration in blood circulation in the elongated myopic eye, which leads to a delay in development.
