Relevance. In case of congenital ptosis of the upper eyelid with low levator activity due to the ineffectiveness of traditional methods of surgical correction, a method of suspending the eyelid to the frontal muscle with a fixation material -silicone tape is used. Purpose of the study. To evaluate the effectiveness and safety of silicone tape in the surgical treatment of congenital ptosis of the upper eyelid in children. Material and methods. The study involved 24 patients (10 boys and 14 girls) aged 3 to 10 years with moderate to severe congenital blepharoptosis. In addition, to the standard ophthalmological examination, the levator function and the degree of ptosis were taken into account. Results and conclusion. Recovery by the time of discharge from the hospital was achieved in 14 (58.3%), in the long term - in 21 (87.5%) operated patients. The use of silicone tape in the surgical treatment of congenital blepharoptosis in children has proven its high efficiency and safety.
