Relevance. This article highlights the problems of dry eye syndrome (DES), emphasizing its multifactorial nature and innovative methods of treatment, including the combined use of intense pulsed light (IPL)-infrared rays of wavelength — 600 nm and low-level light therapy (LLLT) with Red Mask. Purpose of the study. To evaluate the efficacy of Eye-Light ® (IPL and LLLT Red Mask) combination therapy for the treatment of dry eye syndrome. Materials and methods. The study included 790 patients (1580 eyes) — 330 males and 430 females, age range from 18 to 79 years, control group 30 patients diagnosed with DES, which reflects the gender peculiarities of DES prevalence. The mean age of patients participating in the study was 43.1±7.4 years. Comprehensive diagnostic tools including Me-Check ® for accurate diagnosis of meibomian glands and determination of optimal treatment, Eye Light®(IPL, LLLT-Red Mask) device, Norn’s test (manufacturer India) to measure tear film rupture time and Schirmer’s test (manufacturer India, Korea) to estimate tear fluid volume were used to diagnose and evaluate the severity of DES. Results and conclusion. After Eye-Light ® combination therapy, a significant number of patients demonstrated an increase in tear film rupture time — Norn’s Test. The TFRT values improved, reaching an average of 10 to 15 seconds (10 to 11 seconds in the control group), which corresponds to normal tear film stability. The study showed significant efficacy of Eye-Light ® (IPL and LLLT Red Mask) combined application in the treatment of DES.
