INFLUENCE OF CHEMICAL POTENTIAL CHANGE ON HEAT CAPACITY OF QUASI-TWO-DIMENSIONAL ELECTRONIC GAS

Numerical results of investigation of the thermodynamic properties of the quasi-two-dimensional electron gas are presented, namely, the density of states, the temperature derivative of the chemical potential, and the heat capacity of the gas,. The dependences of these quantities on the chemical potential are found. It is shown that the density of states has a step-like character, and there are additional steps at the resonance points of the heat capacity temperature dependence. The widths of the additional steps increase with temperature. With increasing temperature, the main steps are practically blurred, but the additional steps are still visible marks.
