This article analyzes the structure of perinatal nervous system injuries (PNSI) in newborns in the Aral Sea region, as well as their main causes. Perinatal injuries are a pressing issue not only in neonatology, but also in pediatrics, neurology, and rehabilitation. Environmental degradation, living in an ecologically hazardous zone, complications during childbirth, as well as antenatal and intranatal factors—all contribute to regional characteristics. The article is based on existing scientific sources and aims to provide an in-depth view of the real situation in the Aral Sea region.
