This article examines the cognitive features of forms of address, specifically focusing on the roleof metaphorical meaning transfer within the address category system. It explores the factors that give rise tothis phenomenon and discusses the function of cognitive metaphor in manifesting knowledge accumulatedthrough human cognitive experiences.
