The article analyzes apotropaic components and their semantic features within compound (contaminated) names, which constitute a significant part of Uzbek anthroponymy. These components conveymeanings related to the protection of children from evil forces, untimely death, illnesses, the influence of theopposite sex, and the evil eye, reflecting their ethnographic and linguistic-cultural significance and their role inpopular worldview. The study also highlights the role of apotropaic elements in compound and simple namesin the formation of religious, social, and cultural factors.
