The concept of foreign investment, its types, and its role in economic growth

Annotatsiya

This article examines the theoretical aspects of foreign investment, its main types, and its significance for economic development. Existing approaches to defining the concept of "foreign investment" are analyzed, and the characteristics of foreign direct investment, portfolio investment, and other forms of investment are discussed. Particular attention is paid to the impact of foreign direct investment (FDI) on capital accumulation, technology transfer, the development of competition, and economic growth. Based on an analysis of international experience, the study highlights the importance of the institutional environment and the investment climate for the successful attraction and effective utilization of foreign capital. The findings indicate that sustainable economic growth depends not only on the volume of foreign investment but also on its quality and the efficiency of its utilization.
