The article examines the theoretical foundations of the formation and development of the ESG management concept within the modern management system. Using systemic, historical-logical and comparative methods and content analysis of scientific literature, the study traces the evolution of ESG from corporate social responsibility and stakeholder theory to an integrated strategic management system. Contemporary scientific approaches are systematized, an authorial periodization of ESG development is proposed, and CSR, sustainable development and ESG are comparatively distinguished. The concept of “ESG management” is refined, and a conceptual model for its integration into the management system is developed. The findings expand the theoretical understanding of ESG as an independent management concept.
