This article will consider the issues of improving the methodological aspects of statistical research of the standard of living of the population. As a result of the study, a new methodology for assessing the standard of living of the population is proposed, the advantages and limitations of which are discussed. The proposed methodology complements existing approaches and makes it possible to more accurately assess the standard of living of the population.
