In recent years, cryptocurrencies have become an important element of the global financial system, but their anonymity and decentralized nature have led to serious problems related to money laundering and the financing of illegal activities. In China, where the government actively regulates financial markets, cryptocurrency transactions have been classified as a method of money laundering. This abstract examines the causes and consequences of this decision, analyzes the impact on the cryptocurrency market in the country and beyond, and discusses the measures taken by the Chinese authorities to combat financial crimes. The study highlights the importance of creating a clear regulatory framework to ensure the security of financial transactions and the protection of investors, as well as the need for international cooperation in combating financial crimes in the era of digital currencies.
