This study is devoted to the analysis of the development of digital currencies in the modern era. The paper examines the global experience of introducing digital currencies and provides a comparative analysis of the strategies of various countries on this issue. It also predicts the further development of digital currencies and their impact on the financial system. The study allows us to identify the main trends and challenges faced by central banks in the process of developing digital currencies, as well as the expected prospects for this direction.
