This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the standard of living of the population of Uzbekistan and foreign countries. Various international indices, statistics and scientific literature were studied in the research process, and the differences between Uzbekistan and developed countries, their causes and consequences, were thoroughly analyzed. As a result of the analysis, existing problems and promising areas for increasing the standard of living of the population in Uzbekistan were identified. In particular, such priorities as the development of the labor market, the improvement of the education and health care system, the modernization of the social protection system and the support of small businesses and entrepreneurship are established. The article explores the experience of Scandinavian countries, Japan and South Korea, developing recommendations to adapt their positive experience to the conditions of Uzbekistan. Also, modern trends and innovative approaches to raising the standard of living of the population in the context of globalization have been analyzed.
