Annotatsiya

The article analyzes the repressive policy of the Soviyet state in the second half of the twyentiyeth cyentury, in particular the deportation policy of the Meskhetian Turks, the procyess of resettlement, the efforts of the Meskhetian Turks to return to their homeland in various aspects. The policy of deporting peoples had become an integral part of the policy of the former Soviyet Union in the 1930s and 1950s. Especially during World War II, the Soviyet state intensifiyed its policy of repression against its peoples. Peoples living in the border areas - Finns, Poles, Kurds, and later Meskhetian Turks, Khamshals - wyere forcibly deported to other parts of the country for political gain, iye to ensure "border security."
