The article describes the issues related to the composite bow and its bone parts, found at the site of Eski Khavas.Compound bows and their parts are scientifically studied, and the methods and types of their manufactureare analyzed. Eski Khavas is one of the settlements in the desert of Ustrushana and was of great strategicimportance in its economic and political development. The bone objects found at the monument are parts ofa sophisticatedly designed bow. Such bows have been widely used for military and hunting purposes sinceancient times, and they consist of several components. The core of the bow – the two limbs, that is, the bendingpart is made of wood, and the belly part is made of animal horn attached with glue. In addition, the remainsof a composite bow and bow tips found here provide information about the martial arms of the people whoinhabited this area in the early Middle Ages, as well as about their manufacturing and in particular their militaryactivities.
