Rayleigh line fine structure spectra in dilute aqueous solutions of 4-methylpyridine as a function of temperature, concentration, and light scattering angle

Annotatsiya

The frequency shift Δν of the Mandelstam-Brillouin doublet in the spectrum of Rayleigh scatteringof light in aqueous solutions of 4-methylpyridine was studied experimentally. It wasfound that the experimentally observed features of the change in Δν depending on the solutiontemperature, concentration, and scattering angle reflect changes in the local structure of thesolution on scales comparable to the wavelength of hypersound modulating the scattered light.
