This paper presents a method for determining the quantitative composition of two-component textile samples made from elastane and other types of fibers, such as cotton, viscose, cupro, modal, polyamide, polyester, or wool. The method is designed to determine the fiber composition percentage in textile samples. The process involves separating non-fibrous materials, followed by dissolving elastane fibers in a dimethylacetamide (DMA) solution. The mass of elastane is expressed as a percentage of dry mass. A variety of analytical instruments and reagents, including a Soxhlet extractor, FTIR spectroscopy, and light microscopy, are described for fiber identification and verification. The analysis results are systematically presented, and the accuracy of the method is confirmed through repeated tests.
