The article deals with the problems of strengthening the evidence base in the investigation of a criminal case, preventing illicit drug trafficking, as well as identifying the real perpetrators, collecting evidence for initiating a criminal case, sending it for examination by the bodies conducting pre-investigation and examination. At the same time, in addition to traditional methods of preventing illicit drug trafficking, suggestions and recommendations are given for the use of modern scientific achievements (the Kerber-T type ion-drift detector).
