Annotatsiya

Currently, thyroid gland (TG) diseases with nodular formations are widespread, and due to ultrasound examination, it is possible to detect even the smallest nodules. The prevalence rate among the elderly population reaches 60-70%, especially in women and older adults. A clinically significant aspect of thyroid nodules is that 5% of them are thyroid cancer. Despite this low percentage, thyroid cancer is increasing globally year by year, necessitating a serious approach to the medical examination and monitoring of every patient with a detected nodule. Thyroid cancer often proceeds asymptomatically and is frequently discovered incidentally during medical examinations and screenings, leading to late diagnosis and irreversible complications that threaten the patient’s life. Early detection of thyroid cancer increases the patient's lifespan and reduces the risk of other complications, which is also of great importance for both the patient’s and the state's economy. Early detection and treatment of thyroid cancer lead to a 99% survival rate over five years. The development of medical visualization technologies, proper organization of screening processes, and the use of artificial intelligence in medicine create opportunities for early detection of thyroid nodules and cancer, as well as timely and appropriate treatment.
